No more theives during lunch break!!

Hi all,

I would like to share my new feeding method with all of you as it have served me well. I hope it can be of help to fellow bros here.

Objective :

1) All shrimps to have a fair share

As the pellet dropped is small and light enough for shrimps to carry around, many would just carry it to a isolated corner to have it all to himself. Not sharing is my shrimp's forte

2) Control Feeding(no over feeding)

Many times I will have left over from feeding, and it is really tough to look for it amongst the soil. If it is not removed there will be problem such as worms infection etc.


3) Full view of each and every shrimp( For checking if any got berried, infection etc)

In most situation, feeding time is when I can have a full view of all my shrimps and look out for any berried, sick or shrimplets. However such time for viewing usually last very shortly when the pellet is taken away to hide behind wood etc.


Feeding Method :

1) Prepare a pair of wooden disposable(not very advisable as it will corrode in time to come/ might have some things you won't want to leak in your tank)/metal/plastic chopstick.

2) Tie them up with thread.

3) Get a pellet.

4) Tie the pellet tightly with thread to about 3cm away from the end of the chopstick. Please only tie probably 2 rounds around the pellet, do not tie until the pellet is all with thread.

5) Stuff the tip into the soil.

6) Sit back and enjoy!

7) Remove the remains when your shrimps are all back to office for work.

Great idea to share....but the food will soften in water...will the food still tied on to it after that???

I was wondering too if the food will still tied on the stick after the food soften....Anyway a great idea and thanks for sharing..

Err... can you advise how to tell if a shrimp is having infection or sick?

Innovative idea...... but imagine the tank is full of shrimp, than need to tie many food? wah hard work leh...... anyway thanks for sharing bro.
