puffer usually prefer neutral pH. I keep my congo and fahaka in 7-7.8 pH.
Its important to have pH buffer to keep the pH constant. Extreme changes in pH will stress the puffer. Stress puffer is susceptible to diseases. The most common diseases are ich (due to their scaleless body) and IPs (avoid feeding feeders to minimize the risk). |
