Default African Tiger Fish(ATF) Discussion- Thread 5

Been a long time since there's been much discussion on ATFs in here. Thought I'd restart the discussion by sharing mine. These are very much on my list of dream fishes I've wanted to own since starting the hobby.

My 17 inch piece, I've had him since he was 8 inches.

My 22 inch piece which I had the opportunity to acquire recently (couldn't pass up the chance )

Here's a photo of them together

Not that I've seen so far. Used to keep a 17inch VATF with my smaller GATF and the VATF was quite aggressive but nothing too serious. Had them for almost a week already and no aggression shown towards each other at all. My personal experience is that GATFs seem to be more docile.

Maybe it's also cause my red aro is the alpha in the tank

Yes they do bro. When spooked they can jump. You've got to weigh down the cover as they are very powerful fishes.

Thanks for your support bro

Yes my original piece is in better condition. Hope I will be able to groom the bigger piece to better condition in my tank.

Anyone want to share their ATFs as well?

Thanks for informing me about their behaviour and the high risks of these fishes jumping out from the tank. I guess I will have to DIY a cover for my FGT.
