If you have good number of females from start and getting less and less, that could be your female died when berried.

I'm keeping some yellow shrimps too and they are not breeding for e last couple of months. Could it be, inbreeding over a period of time, till they stop breeding? Some of my female has the saddle on it's back, but not getting pregnant.
Maybe we can swap females? Last edited by globalcookie; 07-12-2011 at 01:15 PM. |

Dont think swap females will help. Basically, if you see females and not mate, it is likely your water parameter not correct or you didnt feed them well to make them grow. |

How come all the yellow shrimp keepers after keeping for long time get this problem? Could it be related to the genes of the shrimps itself?

Let me go check e perimeters soon. I did wc of abt 20% each time over e last 2-3wks. There were some deaths (avg 1 per day), i did UV light treatment over 24hrs. Dying has stopped tho.
Feeding is definitely ok. I throw in substantial amt of food, they don't even finish in an hour sometimes. |
