Found 2 types of Most horrible pest in my tank- need help..

any idea of how to put the netting when i got hof, canister pipe and lights above the tank? i see liao scared le.. wanna put also..

I think its a fat damselfly nymph.

Could be Damselfly or Mayfly nymph as both have 3 tails with gills.

I'm going with Damselfly because the tails are bigger than mayfly and in your pic, it is so tiny but yet can still see the tails clearly, meaning the tails are probably quite large when grown up.

Damselfly also have clearly defined head (wider) and thorax while the Mayfly's head and thorax are about the same width and not as clearly divided.

I m doing experience on them with those i caught from my 1ft and 2ft

container 1 with a chunk of stinky rotting star moss rock sort water 2 nymph survive almost a mth liao

container 2 concentrated salt water 1 nymph survive for like 3 weeks 1 die

container 3 dish washing liquid water 1 nymph 1 week till survive

container 4 direct tap water 2 nymph till survive 3 weeks

container 5 tank water 1 week starting like 10 nymph but now only see 5 left i think they feed on each other.

That my test they can practically survive in those condition........

Still need to look out bro it is best u check everynight until u confirm no more.

Imagine i found 1 surviving in a moss ball half sort in water for 3 weeks when i thought it was clear i put it in the tank. 2 hrs later i spot it roaming around looking for food it was like 1 cm long liao.

Yea this pest can survive but maybe not for too long like i did my test on them in dish washing liquid survive for days until i keep adding everynight when i reach home until the water become so sticky they finally die no movement.

Another thing i notice now is they eat each other of the same kind when the food source run out in the tub. Like best of the best survive till the last pcs. Now i monitoring that 1 pcs how long can tahan w/o food.

Not torture lah bro i just want to experience see how this bug react cause i do so much search since i found them in my 1ft so just do research lo. Apparently to 1 science report done by a university in USA. The only way to completely get rid of them in a aqua tank is dose something call "potassium (2nd word forgot how to spell) to block the nymph gills at the tails to breath properly. But it will be a risk cause the side effect is unknown in tank whether soil might adsorb the chemical or not etc. So i was thinking like whether salt will do the job of not i evenutally got itcy hand try other liquid . Just to see how they react which turn out to be a torture chamber to u . Just testing water ma since they make me hunt them down in my tank and cause some death.
