Need help for my PNT

I've been keeping my PNT for about 5years and recently I've asked my mum to feed my PNT daily while I'm overseas for a week.

However, when I'm back, my mum told me that my PNT doesn't seem to want to eat. So I thought it could me the packet of algae wafer "not fresh" and I went to buy another new packet. however it continues to show no interest in the food.

I took it out and check for any wounds but no visible wounds.

Can someone advise me on this because my PNT havent been eating for quite a few days already

did your check your water parameters? it could be uneaten food that may foul the water (armonia). Do partial water change and see if it improves...

could be a pH crash, mine lost appetite and when i did a pH test, it was 6.0.

can be your water dirty also, check how long was your previous water change

can be overfeeding. mine ate alot for one period, den like indigestion for 2-3 days, vomitted out all its pellets. den i starve it for a few days, and it resumed eating

Okie! I changed about 80% of the water last night, today do another partial change again and see if it improves.

I think I need a pH indicator. What's the right pH for PNT? My mum took over the water changing as I'm quite busy, I think I better change water myself from now on.

By the way can someone let me know what you feed your PNT?
My PNT has been eating the same thing for years, maybe it decides it has enough of the same thing??

pnt likes meaty food like FBW and MP.
it also likes fruits like guava, water apple, apple, and other those crunchy types, etc

I maintain my pH at ard 7.5. PNTs don't like too acidic water.

Time for u to get a pH meter!

Mine has been eating nutrafin pellets and hakari algae pellets.

I feed mine with nutrafin pellets and occasional treats of fresh fruits.

sometimes he refuses to eat its pellets or even vomits out everything...... when that happens usually the pnt feels or acts sluggish.

A quick change of water usually helps.

when that happens i will also stop feeding for a couple of days and only feed when it reacts to me when i shake the pellet bottle in front of him.

* signs of return of appetite usually happens after it give out a large amount of poo. hahahhaa

Anyway, my PNT seems to be in a critical condition because he didn't want to be in water. He was sick so I try to do partial water change everyday but one day he struggled in the water. So I drained the tank and see how. He was closing his eyes and try to keep his nose away from water.

I was at my wits end until someone told me there's an aquatic clinic at Jalan Kayu. By this time he has red rash and some seed-looking stuff on his plastron. The vet gave him injection of trexofin and stress vitamins and apply some antiseptic on him. I was given the same things to administer for one week. I hate needles and end up have to give my turtle injection everyday, super stressful.

Anyway, during the week I try to put my turtle back in water and he was okie with it. But he is still not eating and there's no improvement on his rashes so I went back again. They gave me trexofin and iodine solution.
I start to see redness on his butt from all the injections and the iodine they gave me dun seem to be working (I remember reading too much iodine is actually no gd for turtle). Since he was not panting that much in the water, I decided to take him off the trexofin and not use iodine all over him, I only apply the betadine on those seed-like infection. I switch to melafix treatment and change water every alternate days. His rashes disappear after 2 days and he seem to be more responsive. Was eating until a few days later, try to hand feed him but end up he miss the food and got my finger but turtle is weak so the bite wasn't that painful.

After about a week plus of this treatment, my PNT is definitely back to his old self, the seed-like infection is gone and his plastron is back to the healthy yellowish-white. eating again and active in the tank.

This PNT is really a fighter, everyone thought he is gone when he was so sick but I'm glad I never give up. He still has a good 10 over years with me I believe. Anyway I've finally able to give him a bigger tank since I just move house.

I've been feeding him hikari algae wafer but the vet told me it's not balance diet for him. I tried feeding him apples and other turtle food (floating ones), he dun seem to take any of those. Does anyone have turtle who do not take floating food? Is it possible to "train" him to take other food?

Oh yes! My turtle poo-ed alot alot when he was recovering, and usually poo when I take him out to apply med. Let's just say that I was lucky not to have any of those on my face
