Default Sharing my new 2ft shrimps tank setup

Hi all

Just wanted to share my newly setup shrimp tank, pardon me for the "Rojak" (mixture of shrimp in the tank)

This is a 2ft tank painted 3 side light blue colour, tank have been circulated for a month before introducing all those shrimp from my 3ft tank.

I am just using a simple set up running with a tornado fan. Filter wise I am using an internal sponge filter stuff with some bio ring in the middle of the sponge and the outlet connected to an OHF.

Moss are all US fissiden and Thai fissiden with a few frogbits to absorb excess ammonia.

Soil is using ADA 2.

shrimp is mixture of CRS,BDS, Cherry, Sakura, Fire Red & green shrimp. not sure if there is tiger ......

So far all are healthy and saw one sakura, one Fire red & one CRS berries.... hope to have offspring soon...... attach are some shots taken for viewing pleasure, comment/s is very welcome.

I have a 1.5ft tank with cherries and green shrimp (got frm328. Not green in color but marron color. Not sure why the shop wrote it green on the bag).

I've always wanted to keep crs but have to mix with te other shrimp mentioned above. But so far have not done it. Afraid that the crs might die.
But after reading your thread. I've intend to get them.

What is your water parameter?
The last time I took is abt 7.2 ph with NO3 5ml.
You think possible? I've put in mineral plus every 2 day once.

Any advice?

Well that is a true problem, never able to clear the whole tank from other shrimp at one go, probably need few rounds, but then at time they already have more shrimplets.....

This sucker is with my shrimp for few months in a 3ft tank previously, so far have not seen it attacking any shrimp, only saw it snatching shrimp foods....

Hi Kinetico

Thanks for the compliment I am still a noob in shrimp keeping, still learning for expert here.
However with my little learning experience if you want to keep CRS, the PH must be in the range of 6 to 6.8 and temperature is also require to be below 27 degree for low grade CRS, those higher grade will require around 24 degree. I did not measure the GH & KH since there is no rock in it. "0" amonia is a must.

To be able to maintain the PH, use ADA 2 as substrate which is able to do the job, for temperature using a fan will help, but would not be able to go beyond 25.5 degree. I have few S grade CRS and left with one golden which is surviving well for few months already.
