Default My 1st Shrimp Tank

Hi Bro/Sis

This is my 1st time setting up a shrimp tank on 27/12/2009. Do give me some feedback.

Can anyone help me identify this plant. I bought it from Seaview as Spiky Moss whether is it right cos the china guy dun understand english there.

wow nice and neat. ya it's a spiky moss. what type of shrimp do u intend to keep?

Still think wat kind of shrimp to keep as this tank do not have any chiller. Temp in 24.9 to 25.6 cos tank in my balcony. Now only coming to 4 days of cycling my tank.

Any advise wat shrimp to keep.

hmm if the temp doesn't fluatuate too much between the day and the night. i think you can go for low grade CRS to try out first. if not, red sakura would be a better choice as they are very hardy.

Shrimp selection is rather important as I would consider this month as a cooler month. Your tank temperature may vary alot when in the months May~July. CRS may not be able to take it if the temperature is beyond CRS acceptable range.

Just consider twice before you make your decision.

nice setup bro, thanks for sharing! Won't your tank get daylight sun seeing how it's in the balcony? In the open, you'll likely get raising temp and algae issues.

Cover the tank with as much plants as you can to take up the nutrients in the water. Natural light is very hard to control and algae problems might come up. Standby a fan for the hotter months.
