Default setting up new tank

Hi guys,

i wanted to set up a new 1 feet planted tank with ADA soil, but i dunno how does it affect the water, do i need to add anything else to the soil? can some1 advice me?

at the same time may i know what type of filter is better for keeping shrimps?

ada soil is commonly used when keeping shrimps as it lower the ph of the water. canister filter is the preferred method of filtration.

hey bro!
are you rearing shrimps? or just planted
i will just treat it as your are then..cause this is the forum for invertebrates
ADA is good but dun go add other stuff.
cycle the water for 1-2 weeks to be SAFE
if you have a chiller then it would be good but if you dont, use a fan to keep the temperature low.
check the ph value (6.5-6.8)

oh ya, wat filter media shjould i use? coz i dunno whether shrimps are sensitive to a certain kind of filter media onnot later all die.

coral ships or ceramic rings better? or combi/

if i running a 1 footer at office and i did not use a filter. can try crs?
got any buffer solution ? cause i got seaweed and nanas inside and some moss....

the feeling inside is not very good when the tank crash!
haha. erm add and mini hang on filter and keep low grade CRS ba.
haha the shrimps happy you will also happy ma.
so no filter defiantely a no

I am using Azoo glass ring (i use anything that is cheap, haha ), so far so good. Maybe wait and see other bro feedback then decide bah...
