Default Filter advice

I am currently running a 2 ft tank with a HOF filter. Problem is that I only have space for the filter at the rear, resulting in a dead spot. Do i buy a canister or add in another HOF? If i were to buy canister? Which model is most suited for a 2 ft tank, 60cmX25cmx23cm. about 38 litres of water.

I prefer Ehiem. Ehiem 2213,2215, Ecco 2232, Ecco Pro 2032. Depends on how heavily planted your tank is.

For me, I am using Ecco 2232 for my 60x40x45cm tank, which the flow rate is a little slow for me

Canister is highly recommended. IMO, it is better than an OHF. More space for BB to grow at the same time, nicer overall look.

I'm using Eheim 2213, 400L/H outflow, attached with an adjustable valve bought seperately.

For a tank that only contains about 40 llitres of water, will the flow rate of 400L/H be overkill?

i thought the filter should have a flowrate of roughly 4-6 times ur tank volume? which is about 152-234l/hr, in ur case.

Overfiltration is always better than underfiltration. As for the inflow and outflow, you can use lily pipes to sort of calibrate the overall flow in the tank.

Ehiem is the way to go. 2213 if u intend to upgrade to 3ft tank. If not like me stick to 2211 for a 2ft tank
