help needed [shrimp dead or is it hiding inside the moss ?]
Hi I'm a newbie to shrimps. recently i got some sakura, blue and cherry shrimps. the cherry and blue shrimps were pregnant and i saw a lot of small babies shrimps. but after that never see them already. Could it be dead or is it hiding inside the moss? what will they eat? Must i buy any special food for them?(I got no fishes. Only 3 otto's). Any bos and sis able to advise? Thanks a lot.

then my best guess is tt they are all hiding..tt they are simply out of sight...
i've placed some cherry shrimplets in my 2ft tank (filter i nv cover at all)...wanted to test see if they can survive in my comm tank...din see em initially so i tot they all got sucked up or up lorry... but after a few wks..surprise surprise...i see many cherry shrimps hanging ard...(each abt 1-1.5cm)..every once in a while i will see smaller shrimps (0.5-0.8cm) appearing... so i guess..in ur case, they are hiding... |

i can only answer tt to e best of my knowledge..cos i am not entirely a shrimp person..
my tank has many other (small) fish. so e food i feed em, some will sink to e bottom..and i guess tt's where e shrimps will get their food..i oso understand plants oso will help..as they can oso be places where food can be found..they dun eat e plants per se, but rather e stuff tt gathers on em.. i guess u can go get those shrimp pellets and feed em though.. let's hope other gurus can come help u... |

Don't worry bro. If u cover ur filer inlet properly your shrimplets are fine. They usually will hide for the first 1 to 2 weeks and are hard to see. After that they will co e out once you throw some algae pellets to feed your shrimps. When they are born they will feed on micro organisms which are not visible to the eyes.
If u need food, I can recommend you to buy Hikari algae waffles for cheap price. If budget is not concern then get Mosura shrimp food which my sakura and crs are attracted to cheers. |
