No more theives during lunch break!!
Hi all,
I would like to share my new feeding method with all of you as it have served me well. I hope it can be of help to fellow bros here. Objective : 1) All shrimps to have a fair share As the pellet dropped is small and light enough for shrimps to carry around, many would just carry it to a isolated corner to have it all to himself. Not sharing is my shrimp's forte 2) Control Feeding(no over feeding) Many times I will have left over from feeding, and it is really tough to look for it amongst the soil. If it is not removed there will be problem such as worms infection etc. 3) Full view of each and every shrimp( For checking if any got berried, infection etc) In most situation, feeding time is when I can have a full view of all my shrimps and look out for any berried, sick or shrimplets. However such time for viewing usually last very shortly when the pellet is taken away to hide behind wood etc. Feeding Method : 1) Prepare a pair of wooden disposable(not very advisable as it will corrode in time to come/ might have some things you won't want to leak in your tank)/metal/plastic chopstick. 2) Tie them up with thread. 3) Get a pellet. 4) Tie the pellet tightly with thread to about 3cm away from the end of the chopstick. Please only tie probably 2 rounds around the pellet, do not tie until the pellet is all with thread. 5) Stuff the tip into the soil. 6) Sit back and enjoy! 7) Remove the remains when your shrimps are all back to office for work. Please enjoy the pictures! Cheers, Lohsk |

Join the hobby bro! But warning! Once you start, quite hard to stop!
Thanks bro! You might want to try it out! Quote:

Outcome 1 : pellet remains tied on and only a few shrimps are still picking on after probably about 1 hour. Action 1 : Remove remaining pellet, when removing it might drop out as it has became a smaller piece and is abit soggy(but still able to hold there). Outcome 2 : Pellet gone, leaving only rounds of threads. Action 2 : Spot the shrimp that took it, it is usually a very very small piece that sure can be finish by that shrimp. Which will not cause any over feeding. However different pellets may have different characteristic which may not have my result, I'm using mosura CRS food. Comes in long stick, which I cut into smaller pieces. But you may also want to use this method tying the same amount of food for your shrimp, even if it sogs out, it will take some time. Thus, this will enable you to make sure at least most of the shrimps have abit of the food, none will go hungry before the food gets soggy and stolen. Hope I've helped! |
