recently got this fish. but dont know the name of it. big eater.
please help me ID thanks!

Yes, that looks very much a Mangrove Jack..It belongs to the snapper family. A food fish commonly found in pay ponds and sometimes in the market.
They can survive in brackish waters but I think can be fully converted to freshwater if it is from juvenile stage.
Very aggressive fish and big eater as well with sharp teeth as it grows bigger..I know coz I ever got bitten by one while trying to unhook it with my bare hands...Very painful experience..

yes! two sharp teeth like vampire. eh mine not really aggressive to other tank mates hope not. thanks bro for the info!

Wow...that is quite expensive

Wondering if we could fish at the paid pond, can we keep inside our tank?

That is much cheaper as compare to buy the fish.

Heard it is uncommon here and is imported from Thailand. LFS selling $50 for a 5"-6"...
