How often you wash your sump tank
Hi guys, just need to know whats is the common practice to wash the sump tank..........thanks for your commands..........

why wash when you see your medias are not clogged badly and dirty? maybe some bros here can show you some photos what is meant by badly clogged and dirty before maintenance.

i never wash my sump tank for many months and year. These BBs dun like to be disturbed much. I normally take out the media and give it a quick rinse with the tank water and place it back quickly. The rinse just to remove clogged dirt and bigger particles stuck. However, I change the initial wool filter regularly when they turn brown and after 2 weeks. I dun wash wool, I throw and change new ones.

Thanks for all the advice, mine sump already 1 year +..........still seems clean except some brownish algea....most of the time I will put the suction pipe in the sump during WC...&..I always wash my first layer of filter wool every week or couple of weeks depend on what I feed.....only change once a couple of months..........here are I practised........

I didn't wash my sump many months...occasionally would just suck out remains at the compartment base....
