Default denitrator

I have this huge calcium reactor which I converted it to use as denitrator for sale at $150 fixed or trade with items or catfishes (plecos / loricariidae). I'm at AMK Ave10.

The height is about 28inch, breadth of the transparent plastic cylinder is about 7inch. Foot print is about 14inch by 8inch.

As in the pics, I used it as a carbon based denitrator, which I add in the the bioballs (black in color, and it's provided in this deal), with deniballs (white color, food source for the bacteria, not provided in this deal). Fomerly uses it for my arowana tank which prior to this pc of equipment gives over 100ppm NO3. Upon using it, the NO3 manages below 25ppm.

Note that this is a dual chamber reactor. Meaning there is another chamber, behind the front main one (which you can see in the pics, the smaller chamber is hidden behind). I don't use the 2nd chamber as it's meant for when it is used as a CR.

As in the picture I attached, a part of the CR is filled with bioball and a part is filled with deniballs (carbond source for bacterias). I think I used to place about 50 deniballs inside.

Then there will be an intake where you puch in tank water. And then output back to the tank is through another tube output. Other tube output that is not in use, are secured with a valve.

For me using it as a denitrator, I start off with holding water in the CR for a few days to a week or 2. This is to build up anaerobic environment, so as to culture the bacteria. Thereafter, I begin dripping slowly, maybe start off with a drip per seconds. Then slowly increase over time, with periodic NO3 test of the output. When it is working, the output should have '0' readings for NO3. Through these testings, I gradually increase the drips till it's streaming. This could take a month or 2 to achieve. Thereafter, I will do a monthly test for NO3 on the output to ensure it's functioning well.

Bro, you only need to use 2 tubes to use it as a denitrator. 1 tube is to feed the tank water into the denitrator, while the other tube is to return the water back to the tank from the denitrator.

The rest of the tube is useful if you are using it as a calcium reactor for marine setup. So pls ignore the other unecessary tubes.

From the pics, the yellowish transparent tube is feeding the tank water into the denitrator. The reddish color tube is the return tube back to the tank. the other 'black' tubes are redudent.
