seems great for shrimp tanks .

no need to wash regularly too

hmmm looks like can DIY using wire mesh for planted tank.

maybe u can wrap it with Gauze.

i think it should be ok.

this one looks more effectively than those sponge type,so far never seen in lfs leh

but somehow i prefer putting sponge over the inlet instead. it gives extra filtering, and also houses BB (rite?). and i think it's another place for the shrimps to play on as well

the mesh may not be small enuff to prevent shrimplets from being sucked in.... for my case i roll a few round of filter bag material clothe over the inlet. so far so good.
