Default Shrimps keeping, need help...

I thought of keeping shrimps but no experience in this, can anyone give advice on the "how". I got a small 1 x 1 FT tank, is this enough. I saw at parkway parade the Yam FS keep them in a similar tank.

Thks.

Welcome bro into the shrimp world!

I am learning too and if you stay in bedok you are welcome to drop by my place. I have 2 x 1ft tank for my kids. One consist of CRS and the other Sakuras. Only sponge air filter, moss, DW, without fan or chiller and everything is running fine. Sakuras are breeding.

Cheers

For newcomers to the shrimp world, a minimum 2ft tank is recommended since the water parameters is more stable. There are two most important & basic thing you have to do:
1) Cycle your tank properly, esp small tanks (1ft,..). Meaning running your tank with filter & plants but no fish/shrimps for about 3 weeks.
2) When introduce the shrimps to your tank, using dripping method by dripping drop by drop of tank water into your shrimp bag for about 2-3 hours.

oh still need filter....the 1 i saw at yam FS dont have filter installed. If for 1ft tank, possible to get those that hand on the side way of the glass tank. at home not much space to put a bigger tank.

It is possible to keep them without a filter. The general rule is that the water parameters must be stable.

bro, all tanks no matter big or small needs a good filtration system in order to mimick natural water conditions.
Even then its still not 100% natural but its the best way possible.

for small tanks ill recommend getting a small hang on filter. those you just clip on the sides of the tank. fairly simple to setup and looks good. =]

another thing to note, some shrimps like the CRS are sensitive to heat, and with the recent high temperature, your setup's probably not too suitable
cherry shrimps seem to tolerate higher temperature better, and they are cheaper too
