Dolphin MC 788 Mini Chiller
I saw this Dolphin MC 788 Mini Chiller selling at S$100 at Y618. Very tempted to buy it but dun know much about chiller. I know that is a TEM Chiller. I had ask the uncle there & he told me that the chiller need a pump for it to work.
I have a small tank (10L) and would like to control my water temperature to around 25~26 Deg. |

IMO, too small to add internal pump and hard to get constant temperature for such small tank. I am not too sure the MC788 has built-in thermostat control or not, if not then room temperature & water volume dictates your water temperature. Perhaps you'll get -5~6C lower than room temperature so please check. |

i believe the pump is refering to either a cannister filter, a powerhead or maybe a submerged one. As long as you can connect a water hose to the intake of the chiller and connect the outlet to the tank, this chiller will run. hope its clear |

I would advise you to go for the compressor based chillers instead whereby you can set the temperature. The Dolphin Thermal Mini Chillers base on the ambient temperature.

It only effective for very small tank as stated in the specifications on the box. It's definitely better than fan cooled but not that energy efficient.
