To hatch brine shrimp, its best to use 1.5L bottle.
1) Make a hole at the cap where you can insert those metal valve and connect it to an air pump. Ensure the valve is sealed so there there will be no leak. Preferably with silicon. Cut the base of the bottle to make a open end. 2) Fill the 1/2 bottle with aged water and add marine salt. As for amount, i'm not too sure the ratio. 3) Add in 1 tea spoon of brine shrimp eggs, close the cap and tilt the bottle upsize down. The base of the bottle should face up and cap should face down. Thats why you would need to seal the valve. 4) Turn on the air pump and let it run for 24hrs. By cutting the base will allow air from the pump to flow smoothly. 5) After 24 hrs, turn off the air pump. You will see a brown layer(brine egg shell) at the top layer and freshly hatched brine shrimps near the cap(valve) area. You might want to refer to this link or search online for more details like the salinity of the water needed http://geocities.com/lfs2002sg/brine.htm Good luck |
