Not so long ago some bros here posted that they drive the skimmer with a rio 20 hf with great result. Maybe you can give it a try if you need a silent skimmer?

finally, u tot of getting 1.

becketts will b slightly nosier, but the level shd not bother u too much.

if u intend 2 pl the beckett externally, dun try the 20hf. use at least a 26hf instead.

however, b prepared 2 counter the mirco bubbles. IMO, placing it externally will allow u 2 counter tis problem easier.

yeah i am...so right now just wondering what pumps are being used and the noise level, still contemplating whether to run it in or outsump coz in sump has heat issue but less noise and outsump is less heat but more noise, at least that's what i read. Thanks for the advice devilfire!

initially, i run my beckett wif a md40, both outsump. but the md40 need 2 b primed each time i off it, n the beckett will take some time 2 fire up. no gd 4 the pump n it's troublesome.
thereafter, i replaced the pump wif a 32hf insump which saved lots of troubles, while the beckett remained outsump. at 3 ft ht, a 26 hf is gd enough. 32hf is slightly too much at tat ht.
