Suggestion for an Infraction Log section
I have seen how this other forum handles infractions and I think it would benefit this community if there is such a system implemented here. At least the user will know why he/she was infracted. It would be more transparent and the offender knows exactly the reason. It is certainly better than the current system where arbitrary amounts of points are deducted, and the offender can only guess what he/she might have done wrong.
In this Infraction Log, an entry will be logged with the below info, for example : User: (user nick) Infraction: (reason for points deduction) Points: (number of points deducted) Administrative Note: (optional info) Message to User: (optional info) Of course only the administrator would be the only one permited to enter logs. |

Actually, we do have such an infraction system here, with a defined list of infractions. The affected member would be able to access the details of the infraction in his profile/ user control panel- its nature, the corresponding penalty, and any notes that the Moderator might have left behind explaining the basis of the infraction. The infraction system and the reputation system are not one and the same. Hope this helps. Regards. |
